Track descriptions and background species

This recording was made during the period 28.3 – 4.4 in several locations: The Ein Gedi oasis which is a natural wildlife site on the west bank of the Dead Sea close to the Negevi Desert (tracks 4, 11 and 15); in the village of Jad Hashmona and its neighbouring hills, situated in Central Israel in the Judea Mountains to the west of Jerusalem (tracks 1, 3, 6, 7 and 9); in the Kfar Blum kibbutz and the nearby natural wildlife site located in the Hule Valley in the north of Israel which is a favourite resting spot for migrating birds (tracks 2, 5, 8, 10, 12, 13 and 13).

In the CD you can hear the following bird and frog species: Rock Dove (track 8), Eastern Olivaceous Warbler (tracks 2 and 14), Graceful Warbler (tracks 5 and 14), European Green Tree Frog (track 12), Spur-winged Plover (track 10), Eurasian Collared Dove (tracks 3, 5, 7 and 8), Laughing Dove (tracks 3, 9 and 11), Cetti’s Warbler (tracks 5, 8, 13 and 14), European Greenfinch (track 6), Eurasian Scops Owl (track 13), Tristram’s Starling (tracks 11 and 15), White-spectacled Bulbul (tracks 4 and 11), Chukar Partridge (tracks 1 and 7), Eurasian Blackbird (tracks 3 and 13), Dead Sea Sparrow (track 9).
